20/20 Professor: you did a nice job analyzing President Washington’s statement that "reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.” Washington sincerely believed that if we cease believing that God exists, we should expect to lose our sense of moral obligation as well.

10/10 Professor: thank you for completing and submitting your reflection on Richard Allen and the Church. Richard Allen was the first African American preacher to publicly advocate non-violence. Although he started out a slave, Richard Allen would model positive behavior in Christ’s teachings. He would later preach to both whites and blacks in the Philadelphia area in the late 18th and early 19th century.
